Chemopharm Wins 2020 ASEAN Business Award

Chemopharm, an Everlife company, was recently awarded the ‘2020 ASEAN Business Award’ for their outstanding performance in the ASEAN Priority Integration Sector category of Healthcare. The ASEAN Business Advisory Council was established at the 7th ASEAN Summit in 2001, and the awards are an annual event that commenced in 2007. The awards honour enterprises and entrepreneurs who have consistently overcome difficult situations to reach outstanding achievements sustained growth rates and made significant contributions to the economy’s stability.

Chemopharm is a distribution and manufacturing company supplying customers with healthcare, laboratory, and life sciences products in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Healthcare is identified as one of 12 ASEAN Economic Community Priority Integration Sectors. Chemopharm’s award in this category recognizes their efforts to promote ASEAN as a more prominent segment of the world economy while also encouraging regional cohesiveness and global competitiveness.

Chemopharm was founded in 1975 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by Mr. Ooi Chuai Aun, Group Chairman of Chemopharm Group, initially as a distributor of bulk chemicals. Over the years, the company diversified its product portfolio and ventured into the healthcare space in 1998. Today, the company carries a portfolio of over 100 principals under the lead of the Group CEO, Ms. Mok Hueh Min. In addition to being one of the leading distributors of medical devices and laboratory products, Chemopharm also commercializes its own Lab Information Management System software, ChemoLIMS, and modular laboratory furniture, Chemoresources, which can be found in laboratories all around the ASEAN region.

This award not only recognizes Chemopharm’s social and economic contribution to the ASEAN region but also for their effort and perseverance.
